In 1972 Mike Hopkins bought his first motorcycle at the age of 21. He was racing at National level by 1974 and won the 1976 South African 500cc Motocross title. He continued to compete winning no less than seven Western Province Motocross Championships and five Regional Enduro Championships until forced into retirement by a back injury in 1987.
Somewhat of a legend in the motorcycling industry, Mike established Mike Hopkins Motorcycles in 1978 at 133 Bree Street, Cape Town. It is the oldest motorcycle shop in the Western Cape and its iconic reputation stands testament to Mike’s perservering commitment to providing an overall motorcycling experience to customers.
Joe is a life-long biker. He got his first bike at 13 and he has never looked back. His shop Metalheads is his passion and he puts all his time and energy into the job, six days a week! He first rode a Harley back in 1986 when he was working and living in California, from that day on the seed was planted. It was always his desire to turn his passion into his career, so when the opportunity arose he jumped at it. Joe started Metalheads Motorcycles in 2015 and the business has gone from strength to strength.

In 1980, Suzuki South was established by Mr Nibbs Cragg. He provided 38 loyal years of service to Suzuki South, building one of the most recognisable and established bike shops in the country.
